Microsoft Business Group (MBG) Sales Executive

The role

The Sales Executive is a quota-carrying salesperson responsible for selling large Microsoft-centric Professional and Managed Services engagements to new and existing clients in one (or a combination) of industries. Industries within Cognizant include Banking
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop business by creating new and managing existing demand via various lead generation channels, including:
  • Cognizant account teams in existing and targeted accounts
  • Microsoft account teams in existing and targeted accounts
  • Leveraging your skills to break into “greenfield” accounts (new logos)
  • Functioning as an MBG industry “ambassador”, you will be setting the overall tone in delivering amazing experiences with everyone you interact with
  • Taking the lead on pursuits and acting as the “conductor of the orchestra”, you will be coordinating the selling of the entire MBG services portfolio in partnership and collaboration with a wide stakeholder community, including:
  • MBG colleagues, including teams consisting of technical sales support, solutioning, alliances, project management, marketing, and executives
  • Cognizant colleagues within various account teams, service lines and market units
  • Microsoft Corporation account team members
  • Clients and prospects
  • Various partners, vendors and the greater community

Required Experience

  • 10+ years selling professional and managed services to Enterprise Clients
  • Knowledge of Microsoft’s Ecosystem, including:
  • Enterprise on-premises, hybrid and cloud software and services portfolio, with emphasis across the entire Microsoft stack, including Azure, Dynamics365, M365, Power Platform, Data and AI, Security, CoPilot, etc.) and Microsoft’s Industry clouds
  • Execution in a team-selling environment
  • Skill in “navigating” within a Global System Integrator
  • Creation and management of relationships with technology AND business decision makers, including the C-suite
  • Familiarity with leveraging channels
  • Knowledge of all facets of opportunity and account development
  • Deep understanding and management of complex solution sales cycles
  • Knowledge of/experience with structured sales methodologies, e.g., Challenger Selling
  • Deep experience in creatively overcoming sales obstacles
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Existing relationships with Microsoft local field teams and understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem is a plus
  • Digital Transformation industry specific experience is a plus

Preferred Experience

  • MS or MBA degree preferred
  • Strong background in a project environment and application development
  • Proven ability to contribute to new business development efforts and to lead and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Must be detail oriented and able to manage and maintain all facets of complex assignments
  • Demonstrable problem-solving abilities with the aptitude to identify strategic solutions to business problems with enterprise-wide implications
  • Demonstrate the flexibility to work among diverse corporate environments, industries, and technical and non-technical audiences
