Microsoft 365 / Azure AD Security & MFA Enforcement Consultant - Contract to Hire

Project Overview: We are seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 / Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) consultant to implement secure identity controls, enforce Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and configure security monitoring using Azure AD Premium P2. The consultant will deliver full technical documentation suitable for internal IT, audit, and compliance purposes. Scope of Work: - Configure Conditional Access policies for MFA enforcement - Apply MFA to appropriate users, groups, and access scenarios - Configure emergency access (break-glass) accounts - Define recovery and account lockout procedures - Provide step-by-step documentation with screenshots - Create an end-user MFA enrollment guide - Configure Identity Protection risk policies - Enable sign-in risk and user risk alerts - Configure Azure AD audit and sign-in logs - Define alert escalation and response workflows - Document monitoring configuration and response procedures Deliverables: - Fully implemented MFA and security monitoring configurations - Clear, structured documentation (step-by-step instructions, screenshots, diagrams) - End-user MFA enrollment guide - Compliance-ready documentation for IT and audit Consultant Requirements: - Proven experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure AD (Entra ID) - Expertise in Conditional Access and MFA - Experience with Azure AD Identity Protection (P2) - Strong technical documentation skills - Prior Upwork experience preferred Timeline: Estimated duration: 1–2 weeks.
