Job Summary As a Michigan Online Special Education Teacher at HVAM, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality special education services to students with diverse needs. You'll work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to develop and implement individualized education plans, ensuring that each student receives the support and accommodations they require to succeed. This is a full-time, remote position that requires a strong commitment to personalized learning and a passion for making a difference in the lives of students. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement compliant IEPs, progress reports, and other state-specific special education documentation Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, such as annual IEP meetings Communicate effectively with parents, students, and related service staff to ensure that students with special needs receive the necessary support and accommodations Make modifications and accommodations to Stride K12 lessons and assessments as specified by the IEP Collect data and work samples to monitor student progress towards IEP goals and objectives Document all contact with parents and interventions with students Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment as needed Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students Maintain a professional home office and work independently, typically 40+ hours per week Travel as required (approximately 20% of the time) for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and other school-related activities Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution An active State Special Education teaching license The ability to clear required background checks Residency in Michigan Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working with the proposed age group Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment Familiarity with online learning platforms What We Offer As a member of our team, you'll enjoy: A competitive salary and benefits package Opportunities for professional growth and development A dynamic and supportive work environment The flexibility to work from home and manage your own schedule A chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students and families Company Culture At Stride, we're committed to creating a culture of inclusion and diversity, where employees can thrive and grow.
