Job Overview We're seeking an experienced and compassionate Michigan Online High School Paraprofessional to join our team at Highpoint Virtual Academy of Michigan. As a Paraprofessional Teacher, you'll work closely with our special education teachers, certified teachers, and school administrators to provide targeted support to students with special needs, helping them achieve their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals. Key Responsibilities Instructional Support: Assist teachers in delivering instruction using differentiated methods that meet the needs and goals of students' IEPs. Collaboration: Co-teach and collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, and coaches to share strategies for modifications, accommodations, and interventions. Student Progress: Track student progress, motivate students using incentives that reinforce individual goals, and facilitate regular communication with students, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders. Record-Keeping: Enter documentation and perform other record-keeping tasks in appropriate systems, ensuring compliance with Company and District requirements. Testing and Assessment: Assist with testing for local and state assessments, prepare students for standardized tests, and utilize knowledge of state standards and testing requirements to assess students for mastery. School Environment: Promote a positive school environment by holding students accountable for all school and classroom rules and policies. Communication: Communicate needs to the school leadership team regarding special education students as appropriate. Professional Development: Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and professional development (virtual and face-to-face). Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must meet the following minimum required qualifications: High School Diploma: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience: One (1) year of providing support to students or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Residency: Must be a Michigan resident. Technical Skills: MS 365 Web proficiency is required. Background Check: Ability to clear required background check. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Online School Experience: Previous experience working in an online school environment.
