Role Overview
Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced MHST (Mental Health Support Team) Team Lead to manage and support a team of six staff members delivering mental health services for children and young people. This is a pivotal leadership role that combines clinical expertise, operational oversight, and service development.
As Team Lead, you will oversee your own specialist caseload while guiding the team to deliver evidence‑based interventions aligned with MHST core functions. You will be a role model, providing clinical supervision, supporting professional development, and fostering innovation in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Provide highly specialist mental health care to children and young people within your own caseload.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized programmes of care.
Work within professional codes of practice and regulatory standards.
Support operational delivery and service improvement initiatives, including research and development activities.
Provide clinical supervision, consultation, and guidance to MHST team members.
Collaborate with partner services, schools, and community agencies to enhance mental health support for children and families.
Lead service innovation and implement emerging evidence-based practices.

Qualifications & Registration
Essential:
Professional qualification and registration in a relevant field (RMN, OT, SW) OR an accredited registered psychological therapist recognized by a Trust-approved body (e.g., British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies).




Postgraduate training or commitment to complete training in clinical supervision for children and young people (CYP IAPT).
Desirable:

Postgraduate or master’s level training in relevant mental health practice.
Leadership, coaching, or teaching qualification, including CYP IAPT leadership courses.

Experience & Skills
Essential:

Significant experience working with children and young people with mental health difficulties, including complex risk management.
Strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health interventions.

Desirable:

Previous MHST or early intervention/preventative mental health service experience.
Experience working within education settings.
Involvement in innovative or systemic clinical practice.
