The Technology + Product organization works at the intersection of media and technology and our innovative teams are continually developing and delivering products and next-generation technologies that transform the customer experience. Responsibilities • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and performant backend services using Node.js and TypeScript, with a focus on data ingestion, transformation, and delivery. • Implement and optimize components of data pipelines to effectively move, process, and store large volumes of data, contributing to data quality and availability. • Utilize Docker and Kubernetes to build, deploy, and manage containerized microservices, ensuring operational efficiency. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and data pipeline issues, identifying root causes and contributing to solutions. • Collaborate effectively with other engineers, product managers, and other team members to understand data requirements and deliver technical solutions. • Actively contribute to high standards of code quality, testability, and maintainability. Requirements • 3+ years of experience in backend software development, with a focus on building or maintaining data pipelines. • Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript. • Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing applications. • Proven experience in implementing and optimizing components of data pipelines, demonstrating an understanding of data movement and processing. • Proficiency in interacting with and integrating with various database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL databases). • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. • Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail in debugging. • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly. • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. • Eagerness for continuous learning and professional development. Nice-to-haves • Familiarity with specific data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ). • Exposure to data governance and data quality concepts. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines. • Understanding of microservices architecture patterns.
