Merchandising Coordinator

Sleep Country Canada is dedicated to transforming lives through the power of sleep and is seeking a Merchandising Coordinator to support their merchandising team. The role involves managing product information, supporting category managers, and ensuring effective communication across departments to enhance operational readiness.ResponsibilitiesAssist Category Managers with the preparation of reports, product information, market data, and presentation materialsSupport line review preparation, product transitions, and assortment documentationManage the flow of product data, attributes, and assets to the eCommerce team to ensure accuracy and timely updatesTrack progress of product setup and work closely with cross-functional partners to resolve data gaps or delaysConduct routine audits to ensure consistency between in-store and online product informationCoordinate the setup, maintenance, and execution of drop ship assortmentsEnsure vendor-provided information is complete, accurate, and aligned with merchandising needsMonitor performance of extended aisle productsAssist CMs with creation of product and vendor knowledge training for internal teamsMaintain inventory tracking files, ensuring accuracy of item status, availability, and key metricsOwn the upkeep of marketing files, including promotional product lists and calendarsUpdate and manage cost sheets, ensuring timely communication of price changes and cost updatesServe as a key point of contact for store communication—distributing merchandising updates, product changes, product knowledge material, and execution expectationsCollaborate with Marketing, Supply Chain, eCommerce, and Finance teams to ensure alignment on product readiness and execution timelinesAssist with item setup, maintenance, and system updates as requiredSupport merchandising initiatives with accurate documentation and follow-throughTroubleshoot product-related issues and escalate when neededSkills1-3 years of experience in merchandising, retail operations, or a related fieldStrong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlinesStrong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyAbility to navigate fast-paced environments and shifting prioritiesHigh attention to detail and accuracy in managing large sets of dataProficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and SharePointDetail-oriented and process-drivenStrong problem-solving abilitiesCollaborative team playerBachelor degree in merchandising or related field is an assetExperience with product information management or merchandising systems is an assetBenefitsFull medical, dental benefits and a Deferred Profit-Sharing ProgramAnnual Wellness Credit of up to $250.00 for any products/services that improve your health and well-being, i.e., health assessments, nutrition counselling, hiking shoes, a yoga outfit or fitness equipment!Associate Discount Program where you will be able to enjoy some of the world’s best sleep productsMaternity/Parental leave top up benefitsTuition Reimbursement Program that covers professional AND personal developmentLong service awards, celebrations and other social eventsAssociate Referral ProgramPaid day off to volunteer at your local charity of choiceRecognized as one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures in 2023 by Waterstone Human CapitalCompany OverviewSleep Country is Canada’s specialty retailer dedicated to sleep.
