About the position
The Medical Transcriptionist II position at Saddleback Medical Center involves interpreting, transcribing, and editing medical dictations with a focus on accuracy and compliance with healthcare documentation standards. This role supports the delivery of patient care by ensuring that medical records are accurately documented and maintained, while also participating in performance improvement and patient safety activities.
Responsibilities
Ā Transcribes and edits medical dictation accurately and timely to ensure proper documentation on patient charts with an average accuracy percentage of 98% or higher.

Ā Operates designated word processing, dictation, transcription, and other office equipment to fulfill assignment requirements.

Ā Enters billing codes for Core Billing accurately.

Ā Documents any unusual occurrences, quality/safety issues, and customer complaints using the Variance Reporting process.

Ā Attends and actively participates in department-specific education, training, in-services, and staff meetings.
,
Ā Promotes a cooperative and efficient work environment and practices open communication at all times.
,
Ā Provides clerical support without supervisor intervention as needed and answers inquiries from hospital personnel regarding dictation status and transcribed reports.
Requirements
Ā Minimum of three (3) years of experience in typing/editing medical reports in an acute care hospital preferred.

Ā Proficiency in pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology.
,
Ā Minimum of 160 average line count at the end of each pay period consistently.
,
Ā High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
