Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Data Entry and Verification Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately inputting, updating, and verifying medical procedure information and patient scheduling data within our systems. Your work is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our database, which directly impacts the functionality and reliability of our software for our healthcare clients. Key Responsibilities: • Accurately enter data related to medical procedures (e.g., procedure codes, descriptions, durations, required resources) into designated software applications or databases. • Input and manage patient scheduling information (e.g., appointment types, times, provider availability, patient demographics relevant to scheduling). • Verify the accuracy and completeness of entered data by comparing it to source documents e.g., EHR extracts, scheduling templates, standardized code sets or established guidelines. • Identify and correct data entry errors promptly and efficiently. • Perform regular data quality checks and participate in data cleansing initiatives. • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive medical and patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. • Follow established data entry protocols, procedures, and best practices. • Communicate effectively with team members regarding data discrepancies or clarification needs. • Assist with other administrative or data-related tasks as needed. Required Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Proven experience in data entry (minimum 1-2 years preferred). • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. • Strong typing skills (specify WPM if required, e.g., minimum 50 WPM) with high accuracy. • Proficiency with computers, including data entry software, spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets), and word processing. • Ability to learn new software systems quickly. • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines. • Understanding of the importance of data confidentiality and privacy (HIPAA awareness). • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications: • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting. • Familiarity with medical terminology, medical coding (e.g., CPT, ICD-10), and procedure scheduling concepts. • Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems or healthcare scheduling software. • Associate’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., medical administration, health information technology). • Experience working within a software development or tech company environment.
