Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical / Coder Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining medical records. This role is crucial in facilitating the financial operations of our medical practice while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities
? Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients in a timely manner.
? Utilize ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG coding systems to ensure accurate billing and coding of medical procedures.
? Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before submitting claims.
? Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process.
? Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or billing information.
? Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and insurance policies.
? Assist in the management of medical office operations related to billing and coding functions.
Requirements
? Proven experience in medical billing and coding, with familiarity in ICD-10,DRG, and other relevant coding systems.
? Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
? Proficiency in managing medical records and documentation processes.
? Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for identifying discrepancies in billing information.
? Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
? Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
