Medical Chronologist for Law Firm

Job Summary: Our firm is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Chronologist to create clear, comprehensive medical chronologies that support personal injury cases. You'll work alongside attorneys and paralegals to analyze medical records and build timelines that enhance case value and aid in litigation strategy. This is a project-based role with flexible workload depending on case volume. Key Responsibilities: - Medical Chronology Preparation: Review and organize medical records into concise, chronological summaries that highlight treatment patterns, injuries, and causation. - Record Analysis: Identify key medical events, inconsistencies, and gaps in treatment that impact case evaluation. - Terminology Interpretation: Translate complex medical terminology into accessible language for legal teams and adjusters. - Documentation Accuracy: Ensure chronologies are factually accurate, HIPAA-compliant, and aligned with case narratives. - Collaboration: Communicate with case managers and attorneys to align chronologies with case strategies. Qualifications: - Experience: 2+ years of experience as a medical chronologist, legal nurse consultant, paralegal with medical record review duties, or equivalent healthcare/legal background. - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Paralegal Studies, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Skills: - Strong understanding of medical terminology, treatment protocols, and anatomy. - Ability to quickly review large volumes of medical documentation. - Excellent written communication and summarization skills. - Familiarity with personal injury law and medical record formats. - Proficient with medical record organization tools and case management software (e.g., Filevine, SmartAdvocate). Project Basis: This is a freelance/project-based role with work assigned per case. Timely delivery and consistency across projects is essential.
