Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Responsibilites

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our growing mental health practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing insurance billing, verifying coverage, and ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims for behavioral health services. This position is crucial in maintaining a smooth flow of operations and ensuring proper reimbursement for mental health services provided to our clients.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in healthcare administration, medical billing, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing, with at least 1 year of experience in mental health or behavioral health billing.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT codes, and HIPAA regulations as they relate to mental health services.
• Familiarity with major insurance carriers (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross, Aetna) and mental health-specific billing requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with clients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
