ABOUT OUR COMPANY
CH Monson Psychological Evaluations, LLC provides psychological evaluations to clients throughout the state of Utah. Our psychologists travel wherever they are needed. We have a fantastic admin team consisting of 4 stay-at-home parents who each have a role in the company that to support our providers and ensure quality services to our referral sources.
We are looking for a friendly, motivated, and skilled medical insurance specialist / biller to join our admin team. The right candidate will be confident in all things billing. From claims submissions to credentialing to addressing old ARs. A strong emphasis on working with/ billing Medicaid is imperative, as well as experience working independently to help secure insurance contracts and credential providers is a must.
Duties
Prepare and submit accurate mental health claims to insurance companies and government payers.
Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage to ensure proper billing.
Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or issues with billing.
Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, payments, and adjustments.
Communicate effectively with patients regarding their accounts, including billing inquiries and payment plans.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations, coding practices, and insurance policies.
Credential new providers on insurance panels
Credential our company on new insurance panels on occassion.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in medical billing or coding is preferred.
Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding (CPT, ICD-10), and insurance processes.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance representatives, and healthcare staff.
Prior experience in a medical billing role is a plus but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
Minimum of 2 years medical billing experience.
Minimum of 1 year credentialing experience
Ability to type accurately and construct grammatically correct (and friendly) written communications
Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Solid Communication skills: when communicating with clients on the phone or through email, the Manager will do so in a pleasant, approachable, and welcoming manner
Hours
This position requires between 10-15 per week, with the likeliness of 20-25 hours per week during the first 2 months while we are catching up on old ARs. All work is remote; however, 2-3 times per year the entire team meets together in person because of this, Utah residency is required.
Schedule: At least partial availability during morning and mid-day hours are preferred to enable the Billing manager to communicate with clients. However, there is flexibility in the schedule as long as the tasks are being completed in a timely and consistent manner. All members of our Admin team are required to attend the virtual weekly admin meetings and occasional additional meetings which occur during business hours.
