Medical Billing & Credentialing Assistant (Remote – OR, TX, WA residents only)

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Billing & Credentialing Assistant to join our remote healthcare billing team. We work with outpatient behavioral health providers in Oregon, Washington, and Alaska, supporting individual clinicians and clinics. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with medical billing processes, credentialing, and HIPAA compliance. This role is essential for ensuring accurate claims submission, provider credentialing, and efficient support of our account managers. Required β€’ Must be a US citizen residing in Oregon, Washington, or Texas Responsibilities β€’ Maintain accuracy and confidentiality while handling PHI under HIPAA regulations. β€’ Collaborate with teammates, follow instructions, and anticipate account managers’ needs. β€’ Identify weak points in accounts or systems and help lead improvement projects. β€’ Work across multiple EHR and billing platforms, adapting quickly to new technology. Assist billing account managers with tasks such as: β€’ Submitting claims and billing β€’ Posting payments and EOBs β€’ Credentialing applications and renewals β€’ Accounts receivable (AR) research and follow-up Experience Required: β€’ Previous medical billing experience (behavioral health strongly preferred) β€’ Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and ability to pass a background check β€’ Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management β€’ Excellent organizational skills and customer service abilities Preferred: β€’ Experience with Medicare and Oregon Medicaid behavioral health billing and credentialing β€’ Systems knowledge: SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, EZClaim, OfficeAlly, Reliatrax, Availity, MMIS, OneHealthPort β€’ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Sheets, Drive, Docs) β€’ Experience with psychiatrists, PMHNPs, therapists, ABA therapy, and SUD/IOP clinics Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: From $22.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 15 per week Benefits: β€’ 401(k) β€’ 401(k) matching β€’ Flexible schedule β€’ Health insurance β€’ Paid time off β€’ Parental leave Application Question(s): β€’ Do you live in Oregon, Washington, or Texas? β€’ Are you able to pass a background test?
