The Medical Biller is a remote position with requirements to be located within 2 hours drive from Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
The Medical Billing/Coding Specialist ensures the accuracy of medical billing and coding, payment posting, accounts receivable and patient collections. We are looking for a task oriented, quick learner who treats our patients and staff with the utmost respect and customer love.
Duties/Responsibilities:
ā¢ Daily interaction over the phone with patients/customers to answer questions or receive payments.
ā¢ Daily coding of patient visits.
ā¢ Assisting team members with billing and insurance questions.
ā¢ Weekly billing of patient visits through employee rotation pattern.
ā¢ Daily phone interaction with insurance companies to resolve issues with payments.
ā¢ Filing electronic insurance claims, appeals
ā¢ Responding to denials of claims
Required Skills/Abilities:
ā¢ Excellent verbal and written communication skills by phone or in person
ā¢ Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
ā¢ Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Workers Compensation insurance billing guidelines.
ā¢ Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.
ā¢ Previous experience with claims, payment posting, denials and appeals and coding.
ā¢ This is a "work from home" position and therefore, you must be able to work full days with no interruptions.
Education and Experience:
ā¢ High school diploma or equivalent
ā¢ Certificate in Coding preferred
ā¢ At least two years coding experience required
Physical Requirements:
ā¢ Constant periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
ā¢ Constant use of hands for typing.
ā¢ At least 50% of the day requires speaking by phone.
ā¢ Periodic standing, walking, movement from sitting to standing and standing to sitting.
