Job Summary:
As a Medical Assistant in our Gastroenterology department, you will be responsible for:

Providing direct patient care and support to our healthcare team
Performing phlebotomy, preparing specimens for transport to labs, and conducting simple laboratory procedures
Taking vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and assisting with patient flow
Utilizing electronic medical records and computer programs for data entry and retrieval
Maintaining a high level of confidentiality and presenting professionally in all interactions

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Completion of a Medical Assistant educational program preferred but not required
Certification in basic life support through the American Heart Association and knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard required
Minimum 6 months of healthcare experience
Phlebotomy skills preferred
Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
