Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist (Hybrid Remote)

THE POSITION: Our Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for day-to-day medical billing. They play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining relationships by providing excellent customer service to our clinical staff and patients. This position offers a hybrid remote schedule. Summary of duties: • Generate and analyze reports on billing and revenue performance, including daily, weekly, and monthly financial data • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives to resolve billing inquiries or issues • Analyze claim denials and work with payors to resolve or resubmit appeals • Maintain accurate accounts receivable, process credits/refunds, and manage balances with minimal past-due accounts • Identify opportunities to streamline billing processes and improve accuracy and efficiency • Review billing data and resolve discrepancies related to billing issues, payment discrepancies, and customer inquiries • Participate in system upgrades and enhancements related to billing and reporting software QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: • At least 2+ years of medical billing experience preferred • Knowledge of CPT /ICD10 /HCPC codes and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems • Ability to prioritize, organize, coordinate, and perform a broad variety of tasks and stay focused on the objective • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and data entry accuracy • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: • Work for extended periods of time at a video display terminal and will be required to use a keyboard to enter and gather information. • Physical activity including but not limited to bending, reaching, squatting, lifting and prolonged periods of sitting and standing. • Required to work at the IRG Admin office and be responsible for your own transportation to and from the work site.
