Mechanical Technician 3 Support Services
Overview
Mechanical Technician 3 is a highly motivated individual who has knowledge and experience with specific OEM’s. They are primarily responsible for assisting and mentoring other Mechanical Techs and assisting other trades as assigned. This position should have 3-6 years of MHE or related field experience.
Responsibilities
• All Tech 2 responsibilities plus
• Safety First Attitude
• Lead 2-3 other techs and complete projects to proper standards.
• Advanced lift equipment operations.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to troubleshoot conveyor issues.
• Ability to repair or replace conveyor components.
• Ability to run projects in the absence of the supervisor.
• Advanced knowledge of safely tracking belts and following established regulations.
• Ability to communicate with other team members and customers as needed.
• Advance working knowledge of math used in the performance of work.
• Advanced knowledge of conveyor vocabulary.
• Provide leadership for standby support for small to medium size projects.
• Perform intermediate conveyor Preventative Maintenance.
• Ability to provide a detailed job report and communicate the details of the report effectively to the customer.
• Ability to detailed assessment report and communicate the details of the report effectively to the customer.
Qualifications
Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Travel 50-70% of the time
• Punctuality and eagerness to work.
Skills
• All Tech 2 skills plus
• Written and Verbal communication (External)
• Advanced Problem Solving
• Advanced Mathematics (Fractions, Decimals, Unit conversion)
• Critical Thinking
• Basic Leadership
Training
• All Tech 2 training plus
• Advanced level Microsoft Office Suite for PC & Tablet. (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Advanced level of conveyor Terminology. (Hytrol, Intelligrated, Dematic)
• How to interpret the information found in manuals. (For the purpose of teaching others)
