MD Back Office Applications

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Leads to delivery, integration, and continuous improvement of enterprise back-office applications to ensure efficient operations across core business functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Recruit, mentor, develop, and evaluate a team of high performing IT leadership and professionals.
2. Oversee the design, development, and ongoing operations of systems supporting key areas such as finance, human resources, legal, risk & compliance, corporate communications, facilities management, and procurement.
3. Ensure seamless integration of back-office applications with interconnected processes (e.g., invoicing, payroll timesheets, financial reporting).
4. Monitor application performance, scalability, security and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
5. Build and maintain strong partnerships with business stakeholders and functional leaders to prioritize initiatives, manage demand, and optimize solution delivery.
6. Lead vendor engagement and performance for relevant back-office application solutions, ensuring contract compliance and value realization.
7. Drive adoption of best practices, continuous improvement, and innovation in back-office application delivery, leveraging automation and emerging technologies.
8. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field or advanced degree preferred.
• Ten (10) years of progressive leading application strategy, development, or operations within enterprise environments, or related roles, including 5+ years in a leadership role managing cross-functional teams and enterprise systems.
• Proven expertise managing large-scale back-office systems (e.g., Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM)) and related vendor relationships.
• Familiarity with freight, supply chain or operationally intensive industry solutions is desirable.)
• Ability to anticipate future business needs, trends and technology shifts to guide long-term application strategic and investments.
• Proven capability to build, develop and retain high-performing, cross-functional teams that deliver sustainable results.
• Strong influencing skills to secure buy-in and drive adoption of application solutions across diverse business and functional leaders.

Additional Details: This position may be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, Harrison or Dallas. Depending on your location, you may be required to work at a FedEx Campus several times per week.
