Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Preconstruction Engineer to join our team. The Preconstruction Engineer/ Manager plays a critical role in the early stages of our projects, overseeing the planning, estimating, and bidding processes to ensure the successful initiation of construction projects. This role requires a strong background in construction management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate project planning. - Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets based on project plans and specifications. Analyze subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing to ensure competitive advantage and cost-effectiveness. Manage the bidding process from start to finish, including bid invitations, proposal evaluations, and subcontractor selections. Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely submission of bids and compliance with project requirements. Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality or performance. Recommend alternative materials, methods, and designs to achieve cost savings and efficiency improvements. - Evaluate project risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential issues during the preconstruction phase. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients during the preconstruction phase, providing updates on project progress, budget adjustments, and schedule changes. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and subcontractors to foster collaboration and ensure client satisfaction. Additional job responsibilities may be assigned as needed Qualifications: Prefer Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field Proven experience as a Preconstruction Estimator or similar role in the construction industry. In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations. Strong proficiency in estimating software and project management tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, etc).
