Max & Jenna Sketch
For about a year after I met my partner (before we were together), I would jot down this sketch in notebooks as a doodle, just unable to express the feelings I had but looking to release them in any way possible. I frequently and often would jot down versions of the sketch attached. The sketch is of him and I sitting smoking cigarettes on the windowsill of my apartment in Spain - where we met. It was my 21st birthday at 12:01AM. He had knocked on my door with a fork looking to take me upstairs for my celebration / cake. I asked him if we could just share a moment together first and we crawled out on the sill, rolled and shared cigarettes, while music from my speaker was softly playing form inside. I can't remember much of our exchange at this point, but we spent all night together, and the next morning I moved home. We continued to be friends and fly cross-country to visit each other but it took me a year to confess how I feel. By the grace of the universe, he felt the same way. We are coming up on our 1 year anniversary, and I want this sketch to be recreated and blown up as a testament to our love, the youthfulness we inspire in each other, our heartfelt beginnings, and all of the emotions I've had bottled up inside for him.
