Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented First-Year Matrimonial Attorney to join our growing matrimonial and family law practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly admitted attorney who is passionate about family law and eager to build a strong foundation in litigation and client advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with handling a wide range of matrimonial and family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and equitable distribution.
• Draft legal documents including motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
• Attend court appearances, conferences, and client meetings under the supervision of senior attorneys.
• Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients regarding sensitive family matters.
• Manage deadlines and maintain organized case files.
Requirements:
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Minimum of one year of experience practicing matrimonial and family law.
• Strong understanding of New York matrimonial and family law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
• High level of professionalism and ethical standards.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
