We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Math Lab Tutor Assistant to join our team at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. As a Math Lab Tutor Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to students in a lab environment, helping them to achieve their academic goals. Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one, small-group, and drop-in tutoring to students in a lab environment, addressing their math-related questions and concerns
Proctor exams and quizzes online and/or onsite, ensuring the integrity of the assessment process
Grade exams and assign partial credit, providing constructive feedback to students
Communicate effectively with the Coordinator, informing them of any scheduling changes or conflicts at least 24 hours in advance
Assist with additional duties as needed, contributing to the overall success of the Math Lab
Requirements:
Currently enrolled as a degree-seeking undergraduate student at Florida Atlantic University, with a minimum of 6 credit hours (or 12 if international) and a 2.0 GPA
Completion of a particular course in which tutoring is being done, with a grade of at least A-
Recommendation from an instructor of each course you wish to tutor
Preferred Qualifications:
Overall GPA of 3.25 or higher
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to relate to people from diverse educational, cultural, and social backgrounds
High level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality
