Math and Science Tutor - Educational Support Personnel Level III (Part-Time)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Math and Science Tutor to join our team at Deerfield High School in Illinois. As a Math and Science Tutor, you will provide academic support to students in a walk-in tutoring center, assisting with math and science reasoning in all curricular areas. This is a part-time, hourly position that requires excellent communication, technological, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one tutoring in math and science to students in a walk-in tutoring center
Participate in recruitment and training of student tutors
Attend Institute Days, workshops, and continuing education in subject areas
Assist with administrative tasks
Requirements:
60 hours of college credit or a Bachelor's degree
ISBE licensure required (Para Professional License, Substitute License, or Professional Educator License)
Professional Educator License with mathematics and/or science endorsement preferred
Experience in a school setting preferred
Essential Skills and Qualities:
Effective oral and written communication skills
Mathematical and analytical skills
Technological skills and ability to learn new software systems
Patient and flexible with a genuine desire to work with students
Ability to work with students and adults in a positive manner
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Part-time, hourly position
Schedule: 1:55pm-4:15pm on Mondays, 3:10pm-4:15pm on Tuesdays, 1:10pm-4:15pm on Wednesdays, 1:10pm-4:15pm on Thursdays, and 1:10pm-3:15pm on Fridays
Starting pay: $18.50 per hour
