About the TeamThe OpenAI API enables organizations of all sizes—from startups to enterprises—to power their products and experiences with AI. As a member of the API product marketing team, you will be responsible for developing marketing strategies that drive adoption of OpenAI’s APIs, developer tools, and models among developers and businesses. This includes making sure we are building and launching the right products for our customers, deeply understanding our customers and the competitive landscape, thinking strategically about how we bring new products to market, leading cross-functional teams in launch planning, and tracking post-launch metrics and customer feedback. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the way we position and launch AI technology to the world.About the RoleAs a Developer Marketing Manager, you will shape how OpenAI shows up for developers across all relevant product areas, including the API platform, Codex, and ChatGPT. You will build and execute the strategy that defines OpenAI’s relationship with developers, ensuring they not only understand our products but are inspired to build with them.We’re looking for people who thrive at the intersection of creativity and strategy, can craft compelling narratives, and know how to engage developers through content, campaigns, and community initiatives.This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.In this role, you will:Build and execute on a developer marketing strategy to grow loyalty and retention through content, campaigns, and engagement strategies in close collaboration with the Developer Experience team.Craft OpenAI’s unique narrative and brand for developers by deeply understanding our developer audience, their needs, and defining how we show up for the developer community.Create evergreen developer content—from tutorial guides to developer success stories—that creates momentum after new product releases, and educates and influences what developers can build with OpenAI.Bring creative developer marketing tactics to life online and in-person to illustrate what’s possible when building with OpenAI.Keep a close pulse on developer sentiment and feedback to influence our product, marketing, and content strategies.You might thrive in this role if you:Have experience building a 0-to-1 developer brand and content strategy that drives measurable developer loyalty and retention.Have a deep understanding of developers in AI and a pulse on what they are looking for from AI companies.Are a creative problem-solver who can quickly diagnose changing sentiment and feedback and come up with strategic and thoughtful solutions.Are scrappy and self-driven, with the ability to turn ideas into content quickly with few resources.Have a high-level understanding of how developers use APIs and coding tools (or maybe you have firsthand coding experience!)Are collaborative by nature, working closely with Product, Marketing, and Developer Experience teams to amplify impact.About OpenAIOpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity.
