Managing Counsel Contracts

This is a remote position, qualified candidates must currently reside in Costa Rica in order to be considered.Position Summary:Provides legal support and guidance related to client and vendor contract negotiation and other contractual matters within the business. Serves as the point of contact for clients, consultants and suppliers on contractual matters for assigned service line(s). Acts as contractual intermediary between employees, vendors and clients, ensuring timely status, review, reconciliation, approval and execution of contracts.Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:Drafting, review, and negotiation of all kinds of legal agreements including master services agreements, vendor agreements, statements of work, data processing agreements, standard contractual clauses, confidentiality agreements, amendments, among othersProviding accurate and timely counsel to the different internal business units and executivesResearching and evaluating risk factors associated with business decisions and operations, and advising on possible legal issuesAdvising on legal risks and regulatory compliance in a cross-border business contextFamiliarity with data privacy regulationsAbility to work effectively across diverse cultural and geographic boundaries and multiple time zonesCollaborating with U.S. based teams or stakeholders, with a strong understanding of U.S. business practices, communication styles, and regulatory environmentsCommunicating with external and internal parties creating relationships of trustKeeping business stakeholders properly and timely informed of the progress and status of the contractsKeeping track of the contracting processes in the contract management and repository systems, facilitating the signature process, and uploading contractsMaintaining current knowledge of changes in business law, contracts legislation, privacy regulations and other applicable lawsConducting your work with the highest degree of integrity, responsibility, and excellence in client serviceOther duties as assignedQualifications:Minimum Required:Juris Doctor degree or equivalent from accredited law schoolLicensed attorney as appropriate for local jurisdictionMinimum of 8 years of experience with contract drafting, review and negotiationPreferred:Contracting experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical/biotechnology industryLegal experience in a global or multinational organizationUtilization of contract management system and maintenance of contracts metricsSkills: Ability to establish strong working relations with internal and external clientsExemplary organizational skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to work independently, with limited supervisionExcellent analytical and interpersonal skillsAbility to stay focused, effective and efficient in managing multiple prioritiesDemonstrated willingness to listen and learn and proven ability to make and respectfully explain proper decisions (even when this leads to tough business discussions)Proficiency in MS Office and other business applicationsMust be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English languageAny data provided as a part of this application will be stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
