About the Role

The Manager, Learning & Development is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of employee learning and development. This includes designing, developing, and delivering skill-based programs, compliance training, and leadership development initiatives that foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in adult learning best practices and change management, with a proven track record of driving organizational capability and enhancing employee experience.

Key Responsibilities


Provide direct leadership, coaching, and support to the Learning & Development team, ensuring the achievement of departmental objectives and implementing plans to drive team success.
Partner with the Vice-President, People & Culture to develop and execute 6-18 month plans to build organizational capability aligned with enterprise strategy and enhance employee experience through learning opportunities and program design.
Lead the design, sourcing, and delivery of innovative training programs that support employee development in areas such as sales and service excellence, system training, compliance, and leadership development.
Work closely with leaders to identify and meet current and future staff learning needs, supporting career development and ensuring employees have the skills required to effectively meet their job requirements.
Develop, implement, manage, and coordinate all staff learning and development programs and activities, ensuring learning performance objectives, lesson plans, and participant guides are created with contemporary adult learning principles.
Serve as the primary internal contact for staff learning and development needs, and external liaison with vendors and partners associated with learning and organizational development.
Oversee the annual employee development and learning plan and budget, providing regular reporting for executive review.


Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:


Proven success in corporate learning, with experience designing, developing, and delivering programs for individual contributors and leaders that develop knowledge and increase skill.
1-2 years' experience in a leadership capacity within a dynamic customer service-focused organization.
Formal education and/or certifications in Business, Human Resources, or Adult Education, such as a post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate.
Relevant certifications, such as Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) or Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), are considered an asset.
A high degree of digital literacy and comfort navigating various applications.
Demonstrated experience providing coaching and guidance to leaders.
Innovative, critical thinker, with a demonstrated ability to execute.
Ability to work well in a diverse environment with multiple and often changing priorities.


Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are considered assets:


Change management education or certifications.
Experience in strategic planning regarding organizational capability building and employee experience.
Experience in the Financial Services industry.
