Manager, Demand Planning (Amazon) – Hybrid (NY)

We’re partnering with a lifestyle apparel group to hire a Demand Planning Manager who will lead planning and forecasting for their Amazon business. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys translating data into strategy, and has deep experience operating within the Amazon ecosystem. You will be the key connection point between sales performance, demand signals, and operational execution, ensuring that inventory levels are optimized to support consumer demand while protecting margin and service levels. What You’ll Do • Develop 12–18 month rolling forecasts at the style and color level for the Amazon channel. • Adjust weekly and monthly forecasts based on shipping trends, POS data, promotions, and real-time insights. • Partner with Sales to roll forecasts into revenue and margin plans. • Monitor performance against forecasts and communicate variances with clarity and context. • Identify risks and opportunities in EDI orders compared to projected demand. • Build weekly reporting that highlights sales trends, inventory levels, KPIs, and performance drivers. • Analyze Amazon-specific business metrics such as ad spend, profitability, pricing, and demand elasticity. • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Merchandising, Finance, Production, and Supply Planning. • Create and refine replenishment models to ensure strong product availability without excess inventory. • Support SKU rationalization to reduce long-tail exposure and optimize lifecycle management. Who You Are • Bachelor’s degree required. • 5+ years of demand planning experience with hands-on ownership of the Amazon channel. • Skilled in retail or wholesale replenishment for seasonal product categories. • Highly proficient in Excel, with strong analytical and modeling abilities. • Strong communicator who can influence cross-functional partners and decision-makers. • Comfortable presenting findings and standing behind recommendations. • Proactive, entrepreneurial, and confident navigating ambiguity. • Familiarity with SAP, Tillerman, and DTC planning systems is a plus.
