About the Role The Manager, Data Science is a pivotal position that oversees the development and execution of strategic plans, manages cross-functional teams, and ensures the effective allocation of resources to drive business outcomes. This role is responsible for creating and implementing techniques, processes, and frameworks to unite and analyze diverse data sets, providing actionable insights that inform business decisions. Key Responsibilities Manages the day-to-day operational activities that create and execute strategic plans for designated areas, directing teams assigned to projects and overseeing implementations. Plans, creates, and carries out strategies, processes, and frameworks to unite and analyze diverse data sets, including structured and unstructured data, serving as a subject matter expert and point of escalation as needed. Oversees issues proactively, including timely resolution and the identification of remediation opportunities, and creates programming programs, algorithms, dashboards, data tools, and queries to clean, model, integrate, and evaluate datasets. Collaborates with functional specialty units to drive business solutions and direction, establishing credibility with partners while managing expectations and ensuring regular, consistent, and effective communications. Develops and manages budgets for functional areas, apportions available resources to meet working targets, and creates and tutors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training, and development opportunities. Keeps up to date with industry-leading best practices and carries them to the attention of the leadership team for innovative application, fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. Essential Qualifications To excel in this role, you will need: Experience with analytical and statistical programming languages like SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, SAS, SPSS, and others to perform analysis and interpret data. Profound knowledge of SQL and open-source data science and statistics packages like Python, R, and Flash. Experience establishing and maintaining key associations with internal and external stakeholders to develop strategies that meet office goals within budget and timelines. At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace and direct management, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state). Preferred Qualifications To further enhance your candidacy, you will ideally have: Advanced education in a quantitative, computational, or technical discipline. Experience communicating at the executive level. Experience leading cross-functional teams.
