In particular, that includes creating an equitable, inclusive and growth-focused environment for our people. about this team The Manager, Construction is a critical position that drives functional design and sustainability initiatives throughout the fulfillment network by leading construction activities for new builds and existing enhancements to achieve higher storage capacity, improve throughput of volume and improve ecommerce/retail guest SLA. The position serves as the leader of subject matter experts and general oversight of the Design & Construction principles and practices in relation to lululemon objectives, sustainability initiatives, building code, construction regulations, construction health & safety, and permit coordination. A critical objective of this position will be the creation of lululemon standards for Distribution Center design & construction. a day in the life • Global responsibility for all lululemon operated facilities (currently NA and Australia) • Lead a team of Construction Managers that share common responsibilities for the scope listed herein • Responsible for design and implementation of the next generation of lululemon warehouses including sustainability initiatives and office experience • Maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners to consistently develop and evolve-associated processes • Work with internal partners for plan approvals, including value engineering efforts when projects are trending over the approved budget in various phases of design prior to starting construction. • Permit Coordination and support of Application Preparation & Submission • Proactively identify, prioritize, and drive resolution of issues and risks • Manage construction oversight to establish clear delineation of construction streams and phases as related to operational warehouse to ensure safety, and construction progress • Own Landlord relationship for Project Reviews, Follow up, and Project Closeout (preparing documents for landlord and completing final walkthrough) • Travel to job sites, as necessary, to ensure projects are on time, on budget and as per design. Meet with City inspectors, landlord management, internal teams and outside vendors to ensure a successful distribution center project. • Supports and drives network wide initiatives and partners with the PMO team to execute the implementation • Produce Initial building assessment (landlord interim reviews & approvals, impact of design elements on other design considerations or functional requirements) • Deliver Drawing Package Review and Value Engineering Assessment with consideration for constructability, impact assessment, recommendations for code compliance, best practices, functionality • Responds to the construction and safety concerns of Operations teams and Project Managers • Evaluates and identifies new sustainability initiatives • Develop and sustain strong, collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders, including Landlords, Construction vendors, PMO, Maintenance, Health & Safety, DC Operations leadership • Build long term roadmap for construction projects and team structure • Establish budget for construction projects qualifications • Education - Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline; Master's degree preferred; Minimum college level degree and 5 years construction management experience or a combination of equivalent experience • Experience - 8-10 years minimum of relevant experience with Supply Chain operations, in particular relevant experience with building construction, familiarity with building codes and regulations in Canada and United States is a MUST • Strong AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, MS Visio, and MS PowerPoint experience • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Demonstrated experience in creating/managing a portfolio of projects from identification through to project close-out • Experience managing construction, value engineering conversations and negotiating change orders • Must be versatile and able to manage multiple projects in various stages at any one time in the life cycle of a project • Practiced in construction development processes, vendor management, client relations • Established working relationships with Tier 1 construction vendors • Strong working knowledge of building codes and construction regulations • Strong ability to effectively communicate with business partners both local, remote, internally, and externally • Successfully manage multiple competing priorities • Strong customer focus • Ability to identify critical paths and execute (these may change weekly must haves • Acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for your life. • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovate to achieve great results. • Communicate with honesty and kindness and create the space for others to do the same. • Lead with courage, knowing the possibility of greatness is bigger than the fear of failure. • Foster connection by putting people first and building trusting relationships. • Integrate fun and joy as a way of being and working, aka doesn't take yourself too seriously. The typical hiring range for this position in California is from $98,600-$123,200 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
