About the Role

As the Manager, Business Development for Meetings & Events Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in driving the sales growth of our meetings and events solutions for prospective clients. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong network and excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and partners. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing customized value propositions, and leading client proposals and RFP responses.

Key Responsibilities


Identify, handle, and drive prospects through the selling lifecycle in the local market environment
Assess client-specific needs and develop a client-specific value proposition and pricing
Present customized value propositions to client executive-level staff and multiple partners
Align with operational and sales leadership on proposed value proposition from a servicing and profit perspective
Lead client proposals and RFP responses, ensuring timely and successful delivery
Close profitable sales within set pricing guidelines
Partner with internal stakeholders, including sales teams, client managers, and Consulting & Card colleagues to drive new sales opportunities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM data, ensuring alignment with departmental SOPs and processes
Provide meeting industry and product subject matter expertise from pre-proposal to proposal qualification/development/delivery
Develop strategic partnerships with multiple contacts within client and supplier organizations
Foster a proactive and positive relationship with clients, ensuring understanding of expectations and client satisfaction


What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will need:


5-7 years of business development experience in the hospitality, travel, and/or meetings & events industry
Consultative communication skills, including presentation, sales, and negotiation in a B2B environment
High team orientation and collaboration skills
Strong knowledge and network within the Meetings & Events industry
Ability to grow internal and external relationships by providing insight and advice to improve meetings and event solutions value and profitability
Strong financial foresight and ability to think strategically and conceptually
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with experience handling client expectations
Outstanding organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to lead, influence, and motivate others
Prior experience in effectively balancing multiple projects/demands
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred; CMP and/or SMMC designation a plus

Compensation and Benefits

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $70,000 to $140,000, depending on factors such as scope, complexity, and relevant experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Award plan, which rewards participants based on company and individual performance. We also offer comprehensive US benefits programs, including health and welfare insurance plans, retirement programs, and more.
