Major Unusual Incident Investigator, Developmental Disabilities Services

Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services is committed to empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds. The Major Unusual Incident Investigator role involves conducting thorough investigations of serious incidents affecting individuals with developmental disabilities and ensuring compliance with regulations while maintaining confidentiality. Responsibilities Conduct thorough investigations of incidents involving individuals with developmental disabilities, including interviewing witnesses, reviewing physical evidence, and collecting reports from relevant sources Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and the Department of Jobs & Family Services on joint investigations as needed Assess and respond to incoming incident reports and Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) Hotline complaints to determine appropriate action Prepare comprehensive investigative reports documenting findings and provide recommendations to prevent future incidents Ensure all investigations comply with Ohio Administrative Code regulations and statutory requirements, including proper documentation and timely follow-up Travel to community locations and work sites throughout the county to conduct on-site investigations Maintain accurate records of all investigations, reviews, and services provided while ensuring strict confidentiality of sensitive information Participate in professional development opportunities, including meetings, seminars, and conferences to stay current on best practices in incident investigation Serve on office, agency, local, and state committees as assigned to support continuous quality improvement Skills Bachelor's degree in a related field or qualifications listed in OAC 5123-5-07 One year of full-time paid work experience in programs or services for individuals with developmental disabilities required Ability to travel within Hamilton County as needed Must be able to pass criminal background checks, driver's abstract, and various abuser registry checks Two years of full-time paid work experience in programs or services for individuals with developmental disabilities preferred Benefits Flexible schedule and hybrid work location options Starting vacation accrual of 3 weeks per year Sick time accrued at 15 days per year after first year of employment with an unlimited accrual One week of paid vacation and one year of sick day accrual immediately allocated upon hire 3 personal days provided per year, prorated with employee start date Comprehensive Benefits Package: Medical, HRA, Dental, Vision, Employer-Paid Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Public Service Loan Forgiveness Eligibility, Wellness Incentives, robust Employee Assistance Plan, access to Free Medical and Rx through Marathon Health, and more!
