Mainframe Ops/App Support

The Mainframe Ops/App Support contractor will work in a remote IBM and Unisys mainframe OS and environment to support customer processing, applications, and configurations. The contractor will provide support for difficult problems, perform IPL in a highly-complex mainframe operating environment, and provide expertise in OS2200, z/OS, and z/VM operating environments.RequirementsMust possess one of the following required certifications: A+ CE, CCNA Security, Network +CE, SSCPClearance Required: Secret, IT-IMust be willing to work 3rd shiftProvide support controlling, diagnosing, and resolving difficult problems that arise due to incorrect ECL coding/programming techniquesProvide IBM and Unisys Mainframe Operations/Application supportUtilize a Windows-based personal computer workstation and the MS Office suiteProvide support using standard tools for scheduling to include building, maintaining, and scheduling batch processingMonitor and maintain the stability of systems and resources in the MLOB Ops/App Support mainframe environmentPerform system issue/incident determination, resolution, and RCAConduct tape service support for external tape systems in the z/OS Mainframe environmentProvide status and activity reports on items of team activitiesAttend and participate in meetingsEvaluate the customer’s mainframe processing requirementsTroubleshoot problems to minimize interruptions in the customer's critical business activitiesNotify the customer of the following: acceptance, receipt of upgrades, and interruptions in service for upgrades/system patchesProvide follow-up during incident managementContact customer for required system reportingProvide the latest updates to any ongoing issues, possible workarounds, and incident resolutionsReceive and disseminate appropriate notifications for ASI, product upgrades, software updates, and COOP exercisesSupport customer performance requirements and customer support policies/proceduresBenefitsClosely aligned with the company's mission to advance the Navajo Nation and its People through economic development and community empowermentOriginally posted on Himalayas
