Machine Operator / Helper

Position Responsibilities:
Ā Assisting welders and fitters in the fabrication of metal and steel structures
Ā Setting up work as required for welding
Ā Loading and unloading trucks
Ā Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Ā Ability to use various shop tools and equipment (saws, drills, press, grinders)
Ā Spanish speaking an asset
Ā Ability to read tape measure to 1/16Ā
Ā Forklift-certified
Ā Experience working in a steel manufacturing or production environment
Ā Plasma cutting experience a definite plus
Ā Ability to work overtime as required
Ā Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
Work Environment:
Ā Frequently push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ā Stand for extended periods of time
Ā Work in extremely hot or cold environments
Ā Work in extremely dusty environments
Ā Work in extremely noisy environments
Ā Work in environments with dangerous and/or objectionable fumes with exposure to fumes from:
Ā Metals that include aluminum, antimony, arsenic, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, cobalt, copper, iron, lead, manganese, molybdenum, nickel, silver, tin titanium, vanadium, zinc
Ā Gases that include argon, helium, nitrogen, carbon dioxide
Ā Welding processes that include nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, ozone, phosgene, hydrogen fluoride, carbon dioxide
