Machine Learning Manager (Notifications Delivery Science)
Requirements
• Ph.D. with 5+ years or Masters with 6+ years of industry experience working on production machine learning systems at scale, including recommendation, search, growth and/or ads systems,
• 2+ years experience on managing ML engineering teams with 5+ engineers,
• Experience in partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to plan and deliver on business outcomes,

What the job involves
• The Engineering Manager for the Notification Delivery Science team is a high impact role that owns a critical part of the growth funnel: user retention and re-engagement through highly relevant and timely Notifications,
• The team develops and maintains the ML Models powering the reliable, targeted and timely delivery of omni-channel Notifications (Push, Email, Widgets etc.),
• The ML-powered platform delivers billions of highly relevant and timely notifications to hundreds of millions of users worldwide,
• You will grow the metrics impact of the team, work with Product to set the overall Notification Delivery strategy, and influence the company’s user growth strategy,
• Manage and mentor a team of Machine Learning engineers, providing guidance and support to grow their careers,
• The team’s work directly contributes towards the company’s Growth goals,
• Develop and maintain ML models that make personalized and at-scale decisions for notifications budgeting, pacing, content portfolio and intelligent delivery timing,
• Help develop and shape Pinterest’s Notifications strategy,
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, data scientists and product marketing managers
