Our Advertising Platforms team makes it possible for users to discover relevant ads on the App Store, Apple News, Stocks, and Apple TV+. We help developers and advertisers of all sizes drive app discovery through our sophisticated advertising solutions. Our sponsored search ads on the App Store connect users with apps that match their needs, while our display advertising on Apple News and Stocks allows marketers to promote their products alongside trusted, premium content in a brand-safe environment. About the Team

The Advertising Platforms Data Experiences group is seeking an ML Data Scientist to join the Product and Consumer Analytics Team. This team is passionate about driving the next generation of intelligent solutions across Product, Advertising, Finance, and Planning. In this role, you will serve as a critical member of a data-driven team responsible for the research, evaluation, enhancement, implementation, and assessment of statistical models that are essential to maintaining and growing our advertising business.

You will turn the massive volumes of data generated by user searches, app content, and the App Store ecosystem into business insights that improve the consumer experience while driving discovery and effectiveness for app developers. Your work will directly influence product strategy and help shape the future of digital advertising.

Key Responsibilities


Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze large-scale datasets from user searches, application content, and App Store interactions to derive meaningful business insights that inform product strategy and advertising solutions.
Statistical Modeling: Develop and implement advanced statistical models, including regression, classification, clustering, and time-series analyses, to solve complex business problems and predict user behavior.
A/B Experimentation: Design, execute, and evaluate A/B tests and controlled experiments to measure the impact of new features, algorithms, and advertising products.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, marketing teams, and business leaders to translate business requirements into data-driven solutions and analytical frameworks.
Dashboard Development: Create and maintain insightful dashboards and reporting tools that communicate key metrics and trends to stakeholders across the organization.
Data Pipeline Optimization: Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality, accessibility, and efficiency for analytics and machine learning initiatives.
ML Model Deployment: Support the deployment and monitoring of machine learning models in production environments, ensuring model performance and accuracy over time.
Business Impact: Translate analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives that influence product roadmaps and drive strategic decision-making.


Essential Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data science, preferably in digital advertising, e-commerce, or product analytics.
Hands-on experience working with clickstream data and user behavior analytics.
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with the ability to write efficient, production-quality code.
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and big data technologies such as Snowflake, Spark, or similar distributed computing frameworks.
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or equivalent.
Strong background in experimental design and A/B testing methodologies.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with shifting priorities.


Preferred Qualifications


Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
Knowledge of advertising technology ecosystem, including programmatic advertising, real-time bidding, or demand-side platforms.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and modern data architecture patterns.
Experience working with large-scale distributed systems and handling petabyte-level datasets.
Understanding of privacy-preserving techniques and data governance best practices.
