About the position
The experienced Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in supporting healthcare providers by assisting in the preparation, examination, and treatment of patients. This position is critical within our Health Centers, where the MA will also be cross-trained for back-office duties to provide coverage as needed. Additionally, the MA will handle phone calls in compliance with departmental procedures, schedule appointments, and review preprinted instruction sheets with patients. Participation in department staff meetings and in-service programs is expected, along with cross-training in new procedures and departments. The MA will also assist in orienting new employees and temporary staff to their job responsibilities. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required.

Experience in answering phones and scheduling patients effectively.

Phlebotomy skills are required.
,
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
