Responsibilities
Completes patient assessment including height, weight, vital signs, chief complaint, and current medications.

Prepares patients for provider evaluations, including obtaining specimens and assisting during exams.

Administers medications and injections as directed by the provider.

Maintains cleanliness and safety of work areas, exam rooms, and lab; restocks supplies and sterilizes equipment as needed.

Documents patient information in the electronic medical record.

Provides patient education as directed by the provider, including lab results and medication instructions.

Assists with referral authorizations and pre-authorizations for testing and services.
,
Assists with lab procedures.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or a new graduate eligible for the Virginia licensure exam.

One year of experience in a physician office preferred.
,
Current licensure as a Practical Nurse in Virginia (LPN) required.

Licensure as a Radiologic Technician Limited if performing radiology.
,
Current AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
,
Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills and a professional demeanor.

Ability to problem-solve and communicate effectively with diverse individuals.

Skills to utilize automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
,
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
