Job title: (PT) Library Aide : Cape May Company: Atlantic Cape Community College Job description: Description We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative person to work part time at the Atlantic Cape Community College library in Cape May Court House for the upcoming academic year. The successful candidate will work alongside the library and academic support staff to provide excellent service to Atlantic Cape students and faculty. Morning, afternoon and evening hours are available at the Cape May campus, Monday-Friday. Examples of Duties Carry out library circulation desk functions such as patron registration, inter-library loan, holds, managing reserves and shelving. Assist students and staff with locating print materials, utilizing electronic library resources and online research databases, navigating online courses, using web-based course resources and applications such as Microsoft Office and Google Drive. Answer telephone calls, record and enter data into spreadsheets or databases, assist with directing students to tutoring resources. Good communication and cooperation with coworkers and supervisors is essential. Maintain an organized and neat work area. Light housekeeping duties are required. Typical Qualifications Education: A high school diploma or GED is required An associate degree or higher is preferred. Experience: Experience working in a library, school or other learning environment is preferred. Foreign language skills are a plus Competencies and Skills: The ability to work effectively with people of widely varying skills and abilities is essential as is a commitment to patron service. Basic knowledge of computer hardware is required: computers, printers, scanners, copiers, projectors, etc. Competence with popularly used software, especially Microsoft Office and Google applications. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move books and boxes and spend time standing and walking.
