JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Gruskin Learning Center at Penn State Greater Allegheny is seeking part-time Peer Tutors and staff assistant.
Job Duties
Students are expected to attend training sessions; be available to facilitate virtual study groups.
Keep all tutoring appointments, and handle problems effectively and communicate issues with Gruskin Learning Center Director.
Keep information regarding students confidential, keep records of all tutoring sessions, complete all required paperwork and submit records of tutoring sessions on time.
Assist with signing in students, maintaining accurate records of textbook request and loans.
Assist with promoting learning center events and distributing fliers.

Requirements and Qualifications
Penn State Student with an eligible Work Study award.
Peer tutors must be current Penn State Greater Allegheny students in at least their 2nd semester.
Knowledgeable in their subject area.
Must have earned at least a B, and/or be recommended by the course instructor.
Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a job and perform related duties either on campus, or remotely, if possible and at the discretion of the employer. Students applying for Federal Work Study positions should clarify expectations with their potential employer regarding either on campus/in person or remote work arrangements. A Federal Work Study award does not guarantee a job position is available.
