Job description: Coco Coders/Cypher is the UK's leading coding school. We inspire children to learn the language of the future through creatively themed coding lessons online. We take students between the ages of 6-12, through our STEM.org certified computing curriculum and prepare them for the digital future, teaching them core coding principles and how to apply these to real world settings. Past lesson themes have included Architecture, Fashion, Robotics, Conservation, and Art; there's something for everyone.
We're looking for US teachers who can encourage our students to collaborate with each other, be creative, and help shape the thinkers of tomorrow.
The role_
Our teachers are positive and energetic individuals, who come from a range of backgrounds and experience levels, but the one thing they have in common is they are all passionate about teaching. Our Live Online teachers manage the virtual classroom from start to finish. Lessons vary from 60 - 90 minutes but all use themed coding content, wherever possible students are grouped by age, ability and limited in numbers. This is a contractor position.
Requirements
You should apply if you_
Have an interest in technology and coding
Are technologically proficient
Are confident working with children aged 6-12
Are able to break down complicated subjects into easy to understand concepts
Are adaptable and able to think on your feet
Are infectiously enthusiastic, ready to inspire children
You currently live in Iowa
Other desirable, but not essential skills_
Coding knowledge or a computer science qualification
Special educational needs and disability experience
Teaching qualification / experience within classroom setting
Knowledge of lesson delivery
Online tutoring / teaching experience
