Job Summary:
We are seeking a Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher to work with our students from November to December. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing classroom coverage, supervising students, and implementing instructional and learning strategies that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Assume all responsibilities and duties assigned to the absent certified staff member
Follow and present lessons as outlined and described in materials prepared by the absent teacher
Execute all necessary planning, organization, student evaluation, and grade reporting
Maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms
Supervise and account for students in and out of classroom activities during the working day
Develop rapport with students and serve as a positive role model
Evaluate student academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and communicate with parents
Requirements:
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License or Substitute Teaching License
Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and classroom management
Ability to develop a quick rapport with students, building staff, and administration
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbal
Proficient use of Google Suite and student information systems
