The Senior Ability Analyst primarily investigates claims to make timely, accurate and customer focused initial and ongoing Long Term Disability benefit determinations using vocational, medical, and financial claim management. The Senior Ability Analyst supports our mission of helping our customers rebuild their lives after an unexpected event or illness happens while following corporate claim standards, policies, and procedures, and statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements. Claim complexity varies depending on tenure in role, which may be inclusive of working with customers with behavioral health/mental illnesses and terminal diagnoses. Work Arrangement: This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford CT, San Antonio TX, Naperville IL, Lake Mary FL, Scottsdale AZ, or Alpharetta, GA) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise. Start Date: 05/12/2025 Training Hours: Core business hours M-F Length of Training: 6 - 8 weeks Work Hours After Training: Core business hours Responsibilities: Obtain information from the claimant, employer, and medical provider(s) to make Long-Term Disability decisions Analyze medical and financial information to determine eligibility for benefits Provide exceptional customer service using professional written and verbal communication skills Maintain a dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers Help to create a positive team environment that is inclusive to all employees Qualifications: 2+ years of claim experience required Excellent time management and organizational skills Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain a high-level of quality and accuracy, while meeting productivity expectations An ability to adapt to new ideas and situations Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously High School Diploma/GED is required Additional Information: For full-time, occasional, part-time, or remote positions: (1) high speed broadband internet service is required, we do not recommend or support DSL, wireless, Mifi, Hotspots, Fiber without a modem and Satellite; (2) Internet provider supplied modem/router/gateway is hardwired to the Hartford issued computer with an ethernet cable; and (3) minimum upload/download speeds of 5Mbps/30Mbps will be required. Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $44,400 - $79,800 The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
