Logistics Manager (REMOTE)

Job Description Job Description Summary: The Logistics Manager will be responsible for optimizing freight spend, managing supplier relationships, supporting branch operations, and driving performance metrics for delivery service. This role reports to the Sr. Director of Supply Chain and will work closely with multiple functions across SPI to improve service levels while reducing logistics costs. Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to: • Manage day-to-day logistics operations freight across all modes (LTL, FTL, parcel). • Lead the research, evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of a Transportation Management System (TMS) for the organization. • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and brokers to ensure service quality and competitive rates. • Analyze freight spend and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service levels. • Establish and monitor logistics KPIs (on-time delivery, freight cost per pound, claim rates, etc.) and report performance to leadership. • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations (DOT, OSHA, etc.) and maintain accurate shipping documentation. • Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, procurement, and operations to align logistics strategies with business needs. • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement. Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge • Bachelor’s degree or combined education/experience equivalent. • 8+ years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, preferably in a global distribution environment. • Demonstrated success in selecting and implementing a Transportation Management System (TMS) from scratch or leading major upgrades. • Deep understanding of freight operations, carrier negotiations, and transportation cost structures. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, develop insights, and drive decisions. • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and lead cross-functional initiatives. • Proficiency in logistics software, Microsoft Excel, and transportation reporting tools; Power BI experience a plus.
