CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build sustained, community-based response programs to natural disasters. In response to the southern California wildfire, CORE provides free Non-Food Items (NFI) to the victims, Logistical Support to local government, Cash assistance, and many other critical services. This is accomplished through maintaining strategic partnerships with local health agencies and community-based organizations to reach high-risk populations in vulnerable areas.CORE is actively seeking an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Manager to oversee all aspects of CORE California’s warehousing and inventory systems. This role reports to the Sr. Director of Global Procurement and Logistics. The responsibilities for this role encompass the management and execution of Warehousing Standards and Procedures, which involves the utilization of associated tools such as adhering to reporting requirements, overseeing inventory management systems, optimizing warehouse layout, and handling the reception and distribution of goods and materials. Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution of goods.Strategically optimize warehouse layout and space utilization, including shelving, racking, and binning systems, while ensuring accessibility and safety standards are met.Track, control, and meticulously organize inventory levels to ensure accuracy.Conduct regular audits to verify inventory accuracy and take corrective actions when discrepancies arise.Promptly address and resolve any inventory-related issues or complaints.Schedule and coordinate inventory transportation to operational sites.Collaborate with other departments, such as IT, Programs and National Logistics, to meet specific requirements for order fulfillment.Hire, train and supervise personnel, include a logistics associate and warehouse personnelAssign tasks, set performance expectations, and monitor team performance of direct reportsEnforce comprehensive safety policies and procedures within the warehouse to maintain a secure working environmentMaintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvementsProvide logistical support and coordination for emergency response operations, ensuring timely deployment of resources and supplies to disaster-affected areas.Warehouse Safety: Implementing and enforcing safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Conducting regular safety inspections, providing training to warehouse staff on safe operating practices, and addressing any potential hazards or incidents promptly.Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, such as health and safety standards, labor laws, and industry-specific requirements. Staying updated on regulatory changes and implementing necessary measures to maintain compliance.Work closely with CORE’s Global Logistics Managers to implement CORE’s warehouse management systemsWork closely with CORE’s Global Procurement Manager to support procurement activities Scope and Travel: DirectReports: 2Indirect Reports: Warehouse staff, Logistics Associate, Warehouse SupervisorTravel: Not required, optional for disaster responses Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, supply chain management, logistics or related fieldLanguage: Proficiency in English is necessary Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Warehouse/Inventory Management or related fieldAt least 1 year of Supervisory Experience requiredExperience creating warehousing and inventory plans and SOPs. Skills and Competencies: Ability to make quick decisions in emergencies or when rapid response is needed.Required to have a valid/unexpired driver’s license and ability to drive CORE’s vehicles for work purposes.At least 25 years old, or have a valid driver’s license for 7yearsAvailable Full-Time, 40 hours a weekDemonstrable ability to lead and manage staffComfortable lifting up to50pounds of inventory materialsExcellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and handle multiple projectsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentStrong multi-tasking project management abilityAble to manage time effectivelyExcellent verbal and written communication skills In accordance with CA law, the expected pay range for this CA position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
