First National Bank is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Loan Pre-Closing Specialist to join our team in Altavista, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and preparing loan files for final approval, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with bank policies. You will play a crucial part in the pre-closing loan process by auditing loan input and confirming the accuracy of loan terms, rates, and conditions. What will you be doing in this role?
• Accurately and efficiently input loans into the loan system to generate loan documents.
• Ensures new and renewed loans adhere to internal policy, guidelines, procedures, banking laws, and compliance regulations.
• Verifies loan has proper, documented approval prior to releasing documents.
• Compares checklist from loan officer for type, amount, term, rate, schedule of payments, and collateral to Loan Approval Form. Verifies pricing to ensure loan rates meet policy guidelines.
• Ensures all loan documents contain correct and required names for signatures.
• Communicates effectively and provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, answering queries and resolving issues as they arise.
• Compiles data, reviews and updates various reports as directed by Loan Operations Management to support credit risk management processes.
• Demonstrates a commitment to First National Bank Values and Customer Service Standards in every interaction with internal and external customers. Incorporates the high-performance behaviors of teamwork and leading by being a positive example.

Requirements

What will you need?
• High School graduate or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of six months of clerical or loan operations experience required. Experience with all Consumer, Dealer, and Real Estate loans desired.
• Works well both independently and in collaboration with others with minimum supervision.
• Ability to learn and retain knowledge of Bank loan products and services, delivery channels, relevant banking regulations, and operational policies and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with ability to understand and carry out instructions, produce reports, organize information, speak clearly and effectively communicate information to customers, peers and management.
