Our fast growing list of clients include 9 of the top 10 Investment Banks, leading Asset Managers, Hedge Funds and Law Firms.The Opportunity9fin is looking for a LME Legal Analyst with a deep knowledge of restructuring and liability management to grow our groundbreaking coverage of complex out-of-court restructurings with an emphasis on distressed coverage. The role will report into our New York office with flexibility to work from home / remotely as needed.This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced leveraged finance/restructuring lawyer to use their expertise within a rapidly growing start-up environment, with much greater work-life balance than can be found in a typical law firm environment.What you'll work onEvery day is different, but here’s an example of the kind of things you’ll work on:Reviewing leveraged finance and high yield documentation to produce commercially focused and insightful analysis on distressed scenarios and the primary marketWriting topical reports on secondary situations, collaborating closely across 9fin’s team of lawyers and credit analystsAnswering client questions about the covenant packages of specific borrowers and issuersUsing 9fin’s proprietary technology to build and expand our restructuring and LME databasesDelivering seminars, teach-ins and podcast segments as a subject matter expertRepresenting 9fin in the press and at industry conferences and eventsAbout YouThis role will be a great fit if you have the following:JD with 5+ years of experience within a restructuring, special situations, and/or leveraged finance team at a top-tier law firmExperience drafting, reviewing and negotiating high yield bond and/or leveraged loan documents, restructuring support agreements, and Chapter 11 documentationKeen commercial awareness of leveraged finance and restructuring marketsStrong technical understanding of how leveraged finance covenants and definitions operateExisting network of relationships within the leveraged finance communityExcellent relationship building skillsEffective written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex covenant concepts to non-lawyers conciselyAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyOur benefitsWe’re a scaling start up and we enjoy sharing our success, when the company succeeds, we always reinvest that in our people.
