Litigation Assistant - Administrative

They are currently seeking a smart and determined litigation assistant to join their growing team, where the role involves tracking deadlines, maintaining databases, and drafting legal documents.ResponsibilitiesTrack Statute of Limitation deadlinesCollaborate with the assigned team during weekly and monthly team meetings and case audits/reviewsMaintain and update firm database using firm softwareProcess incoming mails, faxes, and email attachmentsEnsure that firm protocol and procedures are followed when organizing and saving documents to the client fileTrack due dates, appearances and deadlines including, but not limited to: statutes of limitations, response deadlines, court hearings, etcCoordinate and correspond with opposing counsel regarding depositions, hearings, etcSchedule and calendar remote appearances and motion hearings for attorneysMaintain team calendarNavigate California Superior Court websites and dockets to obtain relevant informationConduct background research and investigation for active litigation casesDraft various legal documents and judicial council forms, including but not limited to: summons, complaints, ancillary documents, notices, and declarations for filing with the courtSend requests to legal services company as needed (filings, courier requests, etc.)Track service of process for all Defendants in active litigation casesMaintain and update master proofs of servicePropound and respond to discovery and supplemental discovery requestsCorrespond with and contact clients as needed with updatesHandle client relations and coordinate deposition and discovery completion with clientsObtain client signatures on various documents via Docusign, email and/or mailProcess Plaintiff deposition transcriptsProvide case status updates to medical providers as neededSkillsAt least 1 years of civil litigation experienceVery well organizedGood and consistent follow up skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to handle large volume of cases and multiple cases at a timeAbility to work well independently and in a team settingKnowledge of internet software, spreadsheet software and word processing softwareParalegal Certification is a plusPrior experience with Google Suite is a plusBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision and Pet InsuranceCompany-paid Life Insurance and AD&D Coverage, Voluntary Life InsuranceShort-term and Long-term DisabilityEmployee Assistance and Travel Assistance ProgramsPaid Time Off, Paid Sick Time, Paid HolidaysHealth FSA and Dependent Care FSAAccident InsuranceCommuter Transportation IncentiveFlexible HoursFully-paid parking401(k) with Company MatchLearning and Development ProgramsCompany OverviewJacoby & Meyers was founded in 1972 with the intention of making the legal system more accessible to the average person.
