Linux Kernel Developer (Remote/Anywhere)

Collabora is currently looking for a very technically capable, enthusiastic and passionate Linux Kernel Software Developer to join its ever growing engineering team.As a member of the Kernel domain team, you primary focus will be to participate in the development, integration, validation and deployment of Linux board support packages and kernel device drivers, merging code upstream, working together with the mainline Linux community, configuring kernels, troubleshooting functional and performance problems for different customers’ projects and products.Key ResponsibilitiesDiscuss Linux core system technologies with clients and promote our leadership in the open source arenaAnalyze client problems and design solutions leveraging open source technologies and Collabora's technical expertiseDefine and scope client projects in collaboration with the delivery teamContribute publicly to open source projects to further strengthen Collabora's technical leadershipGain working knowledge of customers’ products, applications, technical and business strengths and target marketsUnderstand client needs and reconciling time constraints, available technologies and resources, and open source best practicesDesired SkillsLinux Kernel and kernel module developmentLinux driver developmentCross-compiling and portingUnderstanding of open-source development methodology and practices as well as prior experience/contributions with/to the Open Source Linux Kernel communityLinux distribution package development/management (Debian, Yocto...) is a nice to haveExposure to Continuous Integration environments (Jenkins, kernelci.org...) is a plusSelf learning skill to get sufficient knowledge of Collabora's services, business model, project delivery life cycle and other related technical domainsGood English language skills (both verbal and written)Ability to work and communicate in an online fully distributed environmentCollabora is a software consultancy specializing in bringing companies and the Open Source community together.
