Job Type: Contract Job Category: IT Role: Linux Engineer / Admin Location: Remote Long Term Contract Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced Linux Engineer with strong expertise in Red Hat Linux administration and backup management. The role involves end-to-end Linux engineering, system optimization, and ensuring high availability, performance, and security of enterprise Linux environments. Key Responsibilities: Manage, configure, and maintain Red Hat Linux servers across production and non-production environments. Perform Linux system engineering, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Implement, monitor, and maintain system backups and disaster recovery solutions. Ensure system integrity, patching, and compliance with organizational standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support deployments and automation initiatives. Document system configurations, processes, and operational procedures. Provide advanced technical support for Linux-related incidents and escalations. Required Skills & Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in Linux administration and engineering. Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments. Experience in backup management, recovery planning, and storage integration. Proficiency with shell scripting, system monitoring, and performance optimization. Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef) is a plus. Understanding of networking concepts, security hardening, and virtualization.
